Inteccon is a proud sponsor of the Global Occupational Health Summit 2026, held on November 3 at the Country Club de Ejecutivos in Medellín.
The summit brought together specialists from around the world, organized by the Scientific Committee on Industrial Hygiene of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH), the Colombian Association of Occupational Hygienists (ACHO) and the Colombian Society of Occupational Medicine, Antioquia Chapter. This year’s theme was future challenges in occupational health: exposure, disease and prediction.
International panelists raised a key question for the field: how to anticipate harm instead of reacting once disease has already occurred. Reliable exposure data is where that anticipation starts, and supporting it is part of our work.

On a rooftop in Guatemala, with the Santiaguito volcano on the horizon, a Dustroid keeps track of the air around it in real time. That is the point of continuous monitoring: dust is easiest to control while it is happening, and live data gives the team time to act before a limit is crossed.
The Dustroid Smart by Oizom measures PM1, PM2.5, PM10 and PM100 using a laser-based optical particle counter with active sampling, and handles concentrations up to 30,000 µg/m³. Data flows to the Envizom platform for live dashboards and alerts, and relay outputs can switch on mist cannons or other suppression systems when a threshold is crossed. Its IP66 enclosure is built for outdoor sites, from construction projects to quarries and mines.

A new fab needs its respiratory protection program running from day one, and every respirator in it has to fit the person wearing it. Fit testing is where that program becomes measurable.
The PortaCount 8048 runs quantitative fit tests on full-face and half-face elastomeric respirators and on filtering facepieces, N95s included, using microscopic particles in ambient air. Its real-time FitCheck mode shows how fit changes while the wearer adjusts the mask, which helps train new users and troubleshoot failed tests. The software guides each exercise with animations and prints fit test cards with the report.

Outdoor conditions at an industrial site change with wind, weather and process cycles, and a reading taken once a shift shows only that moment. Whatever happens between checks goes unrecorded.
The WT1 Pro from Ellona is an outdoor multisensor station that sends a data set every 10 seconds. Temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure are built in, and the unit can be configured with particle sensors (24 size classes from 0.3 to 40 µm), up to 8 gases from a list of 24, odor and noise. Alarm thresholds are customizable on every channel, with relay and 4-20 mA outputs to trigger processes or sampling. If the connection drops, the data logger keeps up to one month of readings. The station is IP65 rated, arrives fully calibrated and installs in under 2 hours.

As data centers grow, so does the attention from the communities around them. The constant hum of cooling fans, chillers and generators is becoming one of the most common neighbor concerns, and it can follow a site into its next permit or expansion. Having reliable data on what the site actually emits makes those conversations easier.
The SV 200A is a Class 1 station designed for long-term outdoor monitoring. Four built-in microphones detect the direction of the dominant noise source, real-time octave analysis captures the full frequency picture, and alarms notify the team when levels cross a set threshold.

Communities near data centers are no longer only asking how much water is used. They are asking what comes back out, and what happens to the wells and streams nearby.
That question rarely arrives early. It arrives months into operation, and it asks about a period when nobody was measuring.
The spectro::lyser closes that gap. It reads water continuously by UV spectrometry and reports COD, TOC, nitrate, turbidity and suspended solids without a single reagent. Installed submersed or in a flow cell, it cleans itself with compressed air and holds a spectral fingerprint of what normal looks like, so a shift in the pattern raises an alarm on its own, even when nobody defined in advance what to look for.
Suited to surface water, groundwater and discharge alike, it builds a record that starts before the first question does.
Answer any claim with data. Protect the operation, and the community around it.

In a process unit, personal air sampling depends on a pump that can go wherever the worker goes and keep running until the sample is complete.
The GilAir Plus is intrinsically safe for classified areas, so it stays on the worker throughout the unit, including during turnarounds and confined space entries. It holds a constant flow for a full 8-hour sample and alerts the user if the flow drifts, protecting the result the lab will report. If a line gets crimped, it can restart on its own, and a lockable keypad keeps settings from being changed in the field.

In 2024, ACGIH lowered the benzene TLV-TWA from 0.5 ppm to 0.02 ppm (20 ppb) and removed the STEL. As The Synergist (AIHA, September 2026) points out, that level sits close to the detection and quantitation limits of many portable instruments. At that range, humidity, temperature, drift, interferents and zeroing errors can move a reading across the threshold. The article recommends alarms tied to defined actions, documented zero checks, a predefined gray zone around 20 ppb and laboratory confirmation for borderline results.
The Tiger XT Select uses a 10.0 eV lamp and a benzene pre-filter tube to measure benzene selectively. ION Science specifies a tube-mode range of 0.01 to 200 ppm, with 0.001 ppm resolution and ±10% of reading, stated at the calibration point.
The G999P pairs a PID for total VOCs with electrochemical and infrared sensors, separate instantaneous and exposure alarms, and docking stations that document calibration with zero and test gas. A rise in total VOCs is the cue for a benzene-specific reading.

Three days at FISP 2026 in São Paulo, alongside safety and occupational health professionals from across Latin America and beyond. The 25th edition brought together 800 exhibiting brands and visitors from 48 countries.
The conversations that matter to us happen in rooms like this one: what gets measured, how it gets documented, and what it takes for a reading to hold up when someone asks.
Today is the last day. If you haven't stopped by yet, we're here until 8pm at the Play Safer Pavilion.
