🌿 November is Healthy Skin Month, Decatur.
Our skin works hard for us every day, through cool mornings, dry heater air, and everything in between. It is also one of the easiest parts of the body to keep an eye on, because you can see it.
A good habit is to notice what is normal for you. If you see a new spot, or something that looks different than it used to, that is worth mentioning. You do not need to figure out what it is. That is what your provider is for.

Still sneezing in November? You are not imagining it. 🍂
Ragweed is the most common fall trigger, and it can keep blooming right through November. On top of that, rain and piles of wet fallen leaves give outdoor mold a place to grow. So even on a pretty Decatur afternoon, there may be more in the air than you would guess.
A stuffy nose, sneezing, and itchy eyes that hang around into the cooler months are worth paying attention to. We cannot tell what is behind your symptoms from a post, but your provider can talk through your history and help you sort out what might be going on.

Whitfield Family Practice welcomes new patients of all ages throughout Morgan and Lawrence counties. All three providers, including Dr. Amber Whitfield, are currently accepting new patients.
We accept BCBS, Medicare, Tricare, United Health Care, Cigna, Cigna Healthspring, Aetna and Humana. We are not accepting new patients with Medicaid at this time. Current Medicaid patients, please call us with questions.
